Every year we welcome a new group of artists and writers for the annual Handmade/Homemade Exhibit, curated by Deborah M. Poe.

The mini-exhibition includes handmade, homemade and letterpress chapbooks, one-of-a-kind editions, and broadsides. For the past nine years (2009-2017), the exhibit has taken the entire month of March in the Mortola Library at Pace University. Each year two events accompany the Handmade/Homemade Exhibit: a bookmaking workshop/demonstration and an opening/reading.

The permanent special collection of Homemade/Handmade books resides with Pace University, Westchester, in Mortola Library, since the fall of 2011. Books and book objects are donated by contributors/exhibitors of the Handmade/Homemade exhibit.

Grateful acknowledgement is made to Jill Magi for the use of her art for the Handmade/Homemade site (above)—“Tongues”, 2007.
